The Swedish white power band Pluton Svea successfully played shows in Detroit, Michigan and Cleveland, Texas, in March. The shows, hosted by the Hammerskin Nation, took place despite some obstacles. In Detroit, there were originally two shows scheduled, one for both Friday and Saturday night. After the venues learned of the nature of the acts, both shows were cancelled. However, on Saturday, March 11th, promoters were able to re-schedule the show at a Disabled American Veterans meeting hall. The show in Cleveland, Texas, took place the next weekend on private property. This was the first time the Pluton Svea performed in the U.S. (Los Angeles Times, March 30, 2000).

 Formerly headquartered in the Seattle-area, the Vinland Heathen Front, which is the North American chapter of the Heathen Front, has moved its base of operations to Camarillo, California. Led by imprisoned national socialist black metal mainstay Varg Vikerness, the Heathen Front boasts chapters in thirteen countries worldwide (AHF Newsletter, March 2000).

Extreme Hatred, Youngland, No Alibi, Hammerhead, and Hate Crimes, all white power skinhead bands, are slated to play this year's Nordic Fest. The Fest, which will take place over Memorial Day weekend, May 26-29, in Powderly, Kentucky, and includes tattoo contests, axe throwing, and swastika lighting, is being advertised as a "family" event.

Breath of Night Records, one of the leading distributors of national socialist black metal in the United States, announced the closing of its doors, effective immediately. The label's owner Andrew Harris, also known as Akhenaten, is currently seeking a deal with Malicious Records based in Germany to continue to distribute Breath of Night releases.

As part of their efforts to draw the national socialist black metal scene into the broader white power music scene, Resistance (Spring 2000) featured a 5 page article entitled Is Black Metal a White Noise? A Brief History of the Movement. The article argues that national socialist black metal, despite its rather foreign appearance, should be treated as part of the white supremacist movement. "The sound of the bands is a fierce, savaging soundtrack for the return of WOTAN [emphasis in original], who is believed to bring back the glory of the ancient Nordic folk. Resistance Magazine will thus continue to feature the most prominent bands from this genre, because we are of the firm opinion that they express Aryan Awareness with no less intensity that the WP [white power] usually do" (Resistance, Spring 2000).

Approximately 250 people traveled to Powderly, Kentucky, for NordicFest, a 2-day outdoor white power music festival held over a rainy Memorial Day weekend, May 29-30, 2000 and hosted by the Imperial Klans of America. The event featured the bands No Alibi, Extreme Hatred, Youngland, and Hatecrime, Resistance and Panzerfaust Records selling CD's and other paraphernalia, and a speech by Matt Hale. White supremacists traveled from Florida, Vermont, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Minnesota, and California to attend the event.

Adding a third label to their roster, the National Alliance purchased the country label Johnny Rebel. Pierce now owns the rights to what is billed as Resistance's highest selling item, "Klassic Klan Kompilations" by Johnny Rebel. According to the National Alliance Bulletin, "A music company which owns the reproduction rights to the music it sells is in a far better position than a company which must buy its music from other distributors" (June/July 2000).

The Hammerskin Nation announced plans to host the second Hammerfest in Bremen, Georgia, on October 21-22, 2000. Officially promoted by Free Your Mind Productions, the concert will feature 11 bands over 2 days.
