The Sacramento Unit of the National Alliance will host the first annual "Winter Solstice Celebration" on December 16, 2000. The event, scheduled for a Sacramento Italian restaurant will feature the Orange, California-based white power band Youngland, as well as speeches by Resistance magazine editor Erich Gliebe and North Carolina National Alliance member Will Williams. |

The November edition of American Renaissance features an article by white power folk musician and Aryan International Movement leader Eric Owens. The article, entitled "The new Nationalist Music: Adolescent Rebellion or Radical Commitment?" puts forth the argument to the readers of American Renaissance that white power music, while sometimes violent and difficult to control, plays a vital role in the movement. The article concludes with nothing but praise for white power music. "The media and the music industry have succeeded in turning morality on its head. Racially-conscious music could help set things straight again."(November 2000). |

Liberty Lobby Launches Victor Records: For the second time, the Liberty Lobby is attempting to carve out a niche in the white power music scene. After the botched takeover of Resistance Records in 1998, the Liberty Lobby recently launched Victor Records. Victor's catalog features classical, Celtic, New Age, and white power rock releases (November 2000). |

Dave Neumann of Bloodbond, the Waters, Michigan, based white power music distributor, has come to the aid of 'Ajax', a member of the racist skinhead band Max Resist and the Hooligans who is being charged with manslaughter or aggravated assault. According to Neumann, 'Ajax' put a houseguest into a coma when he 'subdued' him. 'Ajax' has been arrested and will be charged with aggravated assault or manslaughter, depending on whether the accused molester lives or dies. Neumann has asked that supporters mail five dollars to 'Ajax' at Max Resist's Rochester, Michigan, address (December 2000). |

Napster Urged To Block White Power Music |

Germany's internal security agency has asked the parent company of Napster, the Germany-based Bertelsmann, to prohibit the exchange of music by neo-Nazi bands on its online song-swapping service. According to Andreas Schmidt, head of the Bertelsmann eCommerce Group, the company condemns the use of Napster to swap Nazi music but claimed that the company is powerless to stop it. However, the company has been able to block the sharing of commercial acts like Metallica. Ruediger Hesse, an internal security agency spokesperson, stated, "Napster is a particular challenge because with it, everyone has access to skinhead and Nazi music with its incitement to hatred and its appalling anti-Semitic content." (Reuters, December 20, 2000). |

Hendrik Möbus, apprehended by US Marshals in late August on an international arrest warrant, still awaits a political asylum trial. Möbus' trial was set for December 8, but was pushed back to January 12 to allow his attorney, National Alliance legal unit director Victor Gerhard, to better prepare for the trial. Additional charges have been brought against Möbus in his native Germany for remarks he made in an essay entitled "Open Letter to German Nationalists" posted to the web on the National Alliance sponsored website -- www.hendrikmoebus.com. |

BNP Hops Aboard White Power Music Bandwagon |

The British National Party (BNP) has returned to music as a neo-Nazi recruiting tool. Nick Griffin, head of the BNP announced his plan to mail tapes to 18-year-olds on the British electoral register, stating, "A member has come up with a very striking, modern design for a leaflet aimed at young people. We are interested in using this in a youth recruitment campaign which would also use music. While House/Garage/Techno music no doubt leaves most of you cold, there's no getting away from the fact that these styles are now overwhelmingly popular among youngsters (including our own young members) and to use any other sort of music in the first instance would make such a campaign completely futile…We are open to all kinds of suggestions/musical influences, although we would hope to include hints of folk or classical melodies as well as lyrics that would make the music in question very much 'ours'."(BNP Update, December 14, 2000). |

The 'Pagan Front High Council' announced on January 17 that the Pagan Front website was on-line again. "Now we strike again, stronger than before. In the name of proud and honour (sic) of our Aryan Race, stand in the Pagan Front ranks and fight to the end!" On the website, they posted the complete story of Hendrik Möbus and his flight from German authorities to the United States. In the letter, the group alleges that White Order of Thule leader Nathan 'Zorn' Pett was responsible for Möbus' capture outside of the National Alliance compound last August.

After weeks of phone calls to local music venues by Turn It Down activists, the Eastern Hammerskins cancelled a white power skinhead show slated for January 27, 2001 in the Baltimore, Maryland, area. In announcing the setback, the group simply stated, "the show has been cancelled for reasons beyond our control." Following the cancellation, on January 25th, the Confederate Hammerskins announced plans to host a "St. Patrick's Day Fest," set for Jacksonville, Florida on March 17th. |
